Jamie Hector

Jamie Hector is a Brooklyn-born actor best known for his role as Marlo Stanfield on the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Wire”. After “The Wire” ended, Hector was cast in the NBC sci-fi series “Heroes,” playing the villain Benjamin “Knox” Washington through the show’s third season in 2008. Hector then graduated to larger film roles, appearing in the video game-based action film “Max Payne” in 2008, sharing the lead in the hip-hop crime drama “Just Another Day” in 2009, and playing a Black Panther in the 2010 period drama “Night Catches Us.” As of 2014, Hector began starring as Detective Jerry Edgar on the Amazon hit series “Bosch” and remained a part of the series’ starring cast across its seven-season run.

Hector studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. He is also the founder of Moving Mountains Inc., a non-profit organization that gives inner-city youth the opportunity to study the arts by developing their innate talents and expanding their creative opportunities through year-round classes in drama, dance, vocal, and film.
